Diwali is one of the most popular festivals in India, which symbolises the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. It is celebrated by lighting lamps, candles, and fireworks, exchanging gifts and sweets, and worshiping Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity.
Nephos has always taken great pride in its wonderful diverse team who represent various cultural backgrounds and bring forth their unique traditions and customs. This Diwali, we decided to celebrate the festival of lights by getting to know the its significance better through our teammates who celebrate it. They shared their unique experiences and traditions and also some beautiful pictures giving everyone a glimpse into the colourful and vibrant decorations, the delicious and varied cuisines, and the festive and cheerful atmosphere.
Although the festival is celebrated by people in most regions in India, it was surprising to know that each region celebrates it differently. While for one, Diwali meant celebrations and sweets, for another person it meant fireworks and togetherness.
“The thought of Diwali evokes nostalgia about colourful firecrackers, lanterns, and yummy sweets.”
– Amruta Korde, Project Manager
This year, our celebration also took a sweet turn as the team came together to share some of the traditional sweets that are prepared and distributed during Diwali, such as laddoos, barfis, halwas, and jalebis.
As Diwali continues to unfold, we revel in the beauty of diversity and cherish the moments of togetherness, we would like to wish everyone a happy and prosperous Diwali!
